Pruning the bay tree

We bought two posh bay trees last year and our care seems to not be up to scratch as their once proud ball shape has needed a severe trim due to some leaves being dead. Mr D thinks they are dead, but I am hopeful that this is not entirely true. Katy is keeping an eye on my progress.
