Beneath the platform

I had a house call in the morning to set up a repaired longcase clock and then helped out in the shop as it was market day.  I took this carriage clock back for cleaning.  The view is what can be seen when the platform escapement has been removed. The wheel at the top with teeth at right angles to the teeth on the other wheels is the contrate wheel which engages with the pinion of the escape wheel pictured in this disassembled platform I blipped earlier in the year.
