Christchurch 2 years on

Took my 1st trip to Christchurch's CBD on my way home from a holiday. It's now possible to get in and see what's left after the earthquake. The demolition phase still has a way to go & some new buildings are going up. I have to say the extent of the destruction is far worse than I ever thought it would be. Very sobering and emotional. Seeing the vacant lots where buildings used to stand and the remaining buildings waiting for their turn to be demolished or repaired was silencing. But when I thought about the people whose lives were lost or changed forever well there just aren't any words for that. K
