A Mixed Bag

When I got up this morning wad had had snow.
Not a lot - but it was definitely snow.

While I was out in the garden (without the cat - he refused to join me) I took a couple of shots of the ragged Honesty and tried to get a decent shot of the  frozen drops on the clothes drier. Not very successfully.

I was back at the lathe to make some more spinning tops.
They do spin - honestly.
However, the fancier one was a bugger to do. Three stems (pine, Walnut and African Blackwood) destroyed themselves in the making. The surviving stem is also Blackwood.
Unfortunately,  two other tops - solid and bigger/heavier are not spinning. I am not sure why, but I am not beaten yet - tomorrow I will endevour to do a slight reworking and see if I can get them to spin.

We nipped out this afternoon to get some cat food and found that there is still a huge 6' high pile of snow in the corner of the car park.
I wonder how long it will take to melt.
