Back to Reality

My Dear Fellows & Dear Princess Normal,

Er Indoors got back from Tauranga at about 3.30pm today.

Leaving Tauranga is a weird feeling. It seems to me like a 1950's movie because you're basically in a hangar with a coffee shop and some tables, then you just wander onto the tarmac and up the stairs to the plane. Just like in an old filum.

There's no security at all, which always leaves me thinking there's something really important that I've forgotten.

Oh that's right. I've forgotten to have some burly bloke pat me on the bum and ask me to take off my shoes.

Er Indoors sounds like she had a nice week with her family, but said the reunion was a total let down. There were a total of FOUR people she went to school with there. The entire event had apparently been hijacked by pupils from the 1960's, she said.

Bloody baby boomers. First Trump, now this.

To make matters worse, a group of pupils had apparently been unhappy with the way the event had been organised and formed a radical breakaway ALTERNATE reunion sect! Yes! They were having a-whole-nother reunion on the other side of town on the same night! Rude!

So it was rubbish, but she enjoyed everything else about being with her mum and her sister and her dad.... well.... maybe not quite so much...

"That's him calling me now," said Er Indoors as she walked in the door. "Eff's sake."

He's discovered WhatsApp video calls in a big way. Unfortunately he still holds up his mobile like a regular phone.

"Dad, all I can see is your ear," I can hear Er Indoors say. "Hold it in front of you... hold it in front of... oh for eff's sake, he's hung up."

Now we have a whole weeks worth of Er Indoors's reality shows to catch up on. That is "Survivor: Ghost Island" you can see on the telly. In front, and out of focus is an app on my laptop which tracks the tv we are watching. It also tells me who our favourite actors and actresses are.

It may interest you to know that Peter Cushing, Vincent Price and Boris Karloff all feature in this list after my last week alone. I doubt they shall stay there for long.

And if you are all now singing "however do you need me, how-however do you want me" then my work here is done.

S.
