Flooded Garden......again!

Relentless rain again. There has been so much not, the garden is flooding in the usual places. Hoping for a better day tomorrow so that I can get the car out, and try to ‘bang out’ the boot that has a huge dent!

Shopped for Monday (family day), walked Dog at a cold and wet seafront, baked a Simnel Cake and watched the two last episodes of The Good Fight. I used to bake a lot in the early days of marriage and when the children were children, but haven’t done any baking for at least ten years, so this was really a ‘first’. When we moved, I threw the old food processor and mixer away, so today, it was all by hand, just as we did at school! It looks ok, but as We all know, the proof is in the taste, and I’ve not cut into it yet! The other thing is, confession time......I love marzipan, and there’s not quite as much in the cake as there should be!
