Weighing-in

We work very closely with the Mzuzu Health centre in terms of providing them with whatever medicines we can get Dr Paddy Feeney to cajole out of the drugs companies who, in fairness are most generous. This is a referral hospital, under staffed and under funded and are always in serious need of painkillers!
We are regularly called on to provide transport particularly to our health post in Lusangazi, seen here.
They provide a great service for the under fives, prenatal and postnatal mums.
They also have time for and attend to allcommers and do what they can.
Weighing the under fives is a big part of looking for malnutrition, and this is our rudimentary but effective weighing mechanism!!
They hold a monthly clinic as well for those affected by HIV/AIDS
This is one of the many little things that we usually forget to mention.
BIG NEWS: They had their first days rain since April yesterday and a little day. Its not the big rain but it will save pumping for a week or so. Yipee!!

Hi John
We plan to do the following activities in this coming week from 27 October to 2 Nov.
IN DIMBA: Finishing basin for maize. Bed construction and transplanting
Green pepper. Sowing: maize, sweet corn, Earlibird to
plot 1, Rape, lettuce and swede for Pigs.
TO THE GREEN HOUSE: Continuing budding Tangerine and Orange,
Potting and transplanting lemons, Continuing labelling citrus with
strings according to their colour and variety.
ARABLE LAND: Making basin and applying lime and fertilizer into upper
field.
ORGANIC: Collecting cow manure from Doloba,
Making compost and pestcide mixing sisal and dahlia.

REMARKS: We have some rain shawers yesterday and today morning and
sunshine in the evening. Hopefully soon we will receive the rains.
