a lifetime burning

Treetops in the mist

Good Friday 2018: not a day for being outside as today it mostly just rained.  This shot of the nearby Roundhill at Kelston was taken during a brief intermission, at which stage some sort of temperature inversion effect was underway.  I managed to grab my camera and take this shot seconds before the mist rose above the top of the hill.

Today was a good day to be in the kitchen.  Cathy has been making the Simnel cake, and I've made some hot cross buns, which feature in the extra.  I'm still not very expert with piping the crosses, but they taste really good :-) Needless to say, the house smells lovely!

We've been visited by a female bullfinch over the last 2 days, at breakfast time.  I have not yet managed to take her photo, so today, not being at work I hoped that I might get the chance to do so. Sadly, if she has visited it has not been when I have been around to see her.  I am keeping my fingers crossed though ...
