Overalls and respirator, worn by Lance Corporal 'Rusty' Firmin, 1980

'Rusty' Firmin wore these overalls and respirator during the lifting of the Iranian Embassy siege in 1980. He was the assault team leader in blue team, which was responsible for clearing the basement, ground and first floors. In the belt, there is a Browning 9mm pistol - a gun so reliable it was in service for over 40 years. This is an exhibit in the National Army Museum's 'Special Forces: In the Shadows' exhibition
