Late afternoon sun at the beach. Decided to treat myself to a jaunt down there after I finished a project that I have been working on for too long.
As I had anticipated, I saw my first Bar-tailed Godwit of the season, fresh in from ...Scandinavia?/ Siberia?. Plenty of redshank and a couple of turnstones as well. Pictures here!
I heard bad news on the radio about the flocks of robins, blackbirds and other garden birds coming to overwinter in the UK getting lost in fog and contrary winds in the North Sea and dropping exhausted into the water :(
