Searching for food

We came north this morning, choosing to avoid the queues at the end of the northern motorway into the tunnels by using SH16. Stop start driving is my least favourite activity in a car. It seems that despite our trip being longer in distance it was possibly slightly shorter in time. Certainly much reduced stress for me.

Mid afternoon jog to the mudflats at Southend Snells Beach, before heading around the coast to Algies Bay and up over the hill of Highfield Gardens back home. Some birds spotted and photographed; others heard and glimpsed with no opportunity to get a photo; still others seen passing by at speed.

This heron was my pick for today.
