Hiding In Plain Sight

It was ........"crisp" on the walk this morning. But the light was nice - but I wasn't able to get the rim light as I wanted it.
It worked a bit better on the brambles.
I have to say - the catkins were on fire!

Mid morning and Jay was in one of his favourite spots ...... on the windowsill watching the birds.
Then I spotted his reflection in the glass ..... weird!
So was the result when he looked round the curtain at me.

SWMBO was off to Stobo Castle for a few hours relaxation with Bags at the spa so I thought I would start hacking back one of the hedges.
I am glad I didn't get the hedge trimmer out for it.
I had nnot idea there was a nest in it and with Mrs Blackbird refusing to move there are obviously eggs being incubated.

So I stopped and went and did a wee bit of turning instead.
I had forgotten how hard it is to saw Elm ..... it is knackering - even a small piece. It is a strange wood in that it will not spit down its length like other woods.
