After a grueling few weeks at work I am now officially on holiday. I might even leave the washing up 'til the morning, I'm in that kind of mood...

A pal of mine came through with a lovely thing for me today. This is the pal of mine whose wife died this time last week (and he posted a very moving tribute to her on blipfoto here should you care to read) and we've been good friends for nearly 30 years now. He has given me a lot of perspective this week - his wife died, I was unsuccessful in a job interview, that kind of perspective - and today he got me some tickets for a gig I want to see, knowing that I could do with a bit of a boost. Thanks mate - you're a champ!
