Nuthatch?

Out for a walk with Jet. As I walked along the woodland edge I caught some movement in the trees. As I grabbed the camera it flew off but as luck would have it landed on the path.

I have never seen one before and had to look it up when I returned home. I think it is a Nuthatch.

Eldest son Stephen was on the phone when I got back so it was lovely to catch up. He has just had a book published as a co author with Sir Rupert Jackson (a former judge in the Court of Appeal) with a foreword by the Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett of Maldon. Quite an achievement in his first year as a Barrister. To say we are very proud is rather an understatement.
