Gallop or Canter?

Whatever the correct term is for this rider and horse, it was a delight to see. I think it was a canter, the gait between a gallop and a trot would seem to be the likeliest description.
I had been for a long walk in the dunes and along the shore, taking a look at the birds etc., along the way. If you can take a look large there is a flock of birds in the background
