Go On, Scratch My Tummy!

This was some sort of beetle, about 12mm long.

I have had a quiet day. Gentle exercise, and managing without my glasses whenever possible.

Edit:  KimB has identified the beetle as a click beetle. I didn't hear it click, but it closely resembles local versions of the click beetle.
