The Case of the Missing Manatees

We stopped in Apollo Beach,Florida to see the manatees. Florida Power has a HUGE plant there, and the giant sea cows come into the bay to enjoy the heat in the water that the plant produces.

The problem? At this time in the Spring, the water outside the bay (out into the ocean) rises above 68F (19C), and the manatees leave the heated bay to be in the big water. 68F or lower-into the lagoon, 68F or higher-out to see what they can see in the sea. So, since we didn't see a single animal, I had to settle for a manatee mailbox.
