Goosey Goosey Gander

These geese were not amused when MrC wished them a Merry Christmas!
They made a real noise!
I wonder why?
(but they won't be there on Boxing Day)

Usual shopping day.
The weather has turned very cold!
(Will have to get out the Winter wollies. Vests and long johns Ha Ha!!)

More gingerbread in the oven, and the heating turned up.

Snow forcast, but I hope not for here!

16th century nursery rhyme;

Goosey Goosey Gander where shall I wander,
Upstairs and downstairs and in my lady's chamber.
There I met an old man who wouldn't say his prayers,
So I took him by the left leg and threw him down the stairs.

Believed to be about the Catholics hiding to avoid persecution from the zealous Protestants.
They were nicknamed "left-footers", and if found were ill-treated or even executed.
This rhyme is a warning!
