Chateau de Montbrun

Dutchoak and his mates go castle-hunting again. Today, Chateau de Brie, Chateau de Cromieres and Chateau de Montbrun get a lookover.

Chateau de Montbrun is a beauty! Built in the 12th century on the site of a roman army camp (see the mound right behind the castle!), it defended the outer border of Aquitania. The proud donjon was the symbol of the power of Aimeric le Brun, viscount of Limousin.
