Mithraeum

Up in Town today (once the trains sorted themselves out) for one of my occasional museum days with Katie while she’s over from Berlin. Today we started with the Mithraeum, a sensory reconstruction of the temple to the god Mithras, worship place of a mysterious men-only Roman cult. Then we popped into the Roman amphitheatre, under the Guildhall, and finally the Museum of London. I was a little disappointed with the fatberg exhibition as there were just a couple of little samples of it. Mind you, the whole thing was the size of two Wembley football pitches so it probably wouldn’t have been practical to have it on display.
