Excursion

A lovely excursion on a sunny afternoon after work out to Suomenlinna to listen to a concert of Pergolesi's Stabat Mater. The two singers were wonderful. The small string ensemble accompanying them less so, but that didn't really matter. The accoustics were fabulous and the two singers filled the space extremely effectively. We preceded the concert with a wander around the island and a quick pit stop in Cafe Silo.

Outstanding light all through the day. I guess I should have stayed out on deck taking photos of the clouds as we went back to the mainland, but by then I was really very cold. Too many photographs to process on a weekday evening, so I did a quick review and chose this one, of the ferry arriving to pick us up. It was interesting to see how much snow and ice had disappeared since we were there the last time just over two weeks ago.
