Eye Pad

After lunch today I went off to see cousin Sharon again. She was having her eye pad set up to be compatible with Facebook and her mobile phone. As I got there they had just finished the setup. After they had gone a few minutes I said Cummon then lets try it. I had put some family shots on FB last night & this was an opportunity for her to see them. Unfortunately as is often the case it didn't work - typical IT people I said. We tried switching it off & on again but didn't make any difference....typical ! Anyhow she set me up on her system so she can now send & receive texts. All very ingenious and an amazing piece of kit when it works correctly. I'm sure it will do soon. Her eyes dart around the keyboard so quickly you can almost have a normal conversation. As you know she was diagnosed with MND less than a year ago and her physical abilities have deteriorated so much in that time that she can only move one hand, her head & parts of her face & her eyes...still despite all this we still had a good old laugh even though at one point she started coughing and couldn't stop ....getting water down her is an even worse problem as it takes all of her concentration just to swallow......ahhh bless the girl..... Her mind is so active and she has never accepted that the diagnosis is right - she mentioned it again today and asked me to do some research for her which I promised I would. I won't see her for at least a couple of weeks cos once she gets home she gets lots of visitors plus medical professionals etc.

On the way home I felt so sad and yet I'm still amazed just how well she is coping.

A dark gloomy day with outbreaks of rain
