our first inheritance from our mum. I love the idea that over millions of years, mDNA has been passed by mother's to their children, unchanged except for mutations, for generation upon generation.

And the picture, one from my child and adulthood - my mum's grandmother's christmas pudding recipe. Started last night, wishes made and now two pans steaming in the kitchen, only another 6 or 7 hours to go and they will be ready to steam again on Christmas Day.

The only problem with all this is that I have one steamer and one large pan, so nap time is restricted today, to about 45 minutes which is the time it takes a reasonable amount of topped up water to become a saucepan in need of a top up of boiling water!
