Toad in the Hole

Tom is so bored during his holidays with the limitations of a dislocated shoulder, that he agreed to come out on Toad Patrol. We got 5 males under the streetlight and then one large female popped her head out of a hole. Before we could get her, she popped back in, one beady eye watching up. It took ages to coax her out, but Tom finally managed it. 

The ponds were thronging with toads, plenty of fights going on, the water was practically frothing. I'm going to try and film it tonight and put something on the Facebook page.
