Last week Kai turned 3 years old. He told me gravely over dinner the next day,

'I'm big now mummy, because I'm three!'

He also got a new red furry hat!

He rarely poses for the camera (if he sees me with it he runs in the opposite direction. I have to catch him unawares!) but he smiled for me here and this photo has become an instant favourite of mine.
