Fashionable Bath
Another lovely day and we spent a good part of it in Bath.
I have been to the Fashion Museum in the Assembly Rooms there several times but, despite John's working there and his mum living there, Grace has never been.
I wanted to go on this visit as there is an extra exhibition on at the moment of Royal Dresses. A small collection of dresses from the wardrobes of Royal ladies who were not the Monarch. Princess Alexandra (Princess of Wales), Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret. The Assembly Rooms are a perfect venue, straight out of Jane Austin and are just along the road going left in this shot of Lansdown Road.
We walked down here from John's mums house where we parked. It descends steeply right down into the centre of Bath. It felt even steeper going back up with the pram!
After our visit to the Museum we met John for lunch in the Cafe Lucca where Grace had worked briefly whilst living in Bath after she and John returned from travelling.
We had a wonderful salad bowl for lunch (a combination of four different salads) which Grace remembered from the days when she worked there. This gave Eda a chance to try another green bean and some butternut squash which she seems to like a lot.
Not all my photos were very good today as I found I had a smear across my lens when I got home.
We are back in Yorkshire this evening and we have had five most enjoyable and varied days away culminating in some lovely real spring weather.
