Southern Highlands

The Moon appeared briefly before it got dark, playing hide and seek with cloud. I took this whilst I had the opportunity. It's clouded over completely now. This region of the Moon is pockmarked with impact craters, the most famous being the clearly defined Tycho from which bright rays emanate across virtually the full disc. Below it is Clavius, itself covered with smaller craters.
The photo is a single phoneshot through a 17mm eyepiece with a X2 Barlow lens on a 127 Mak-Cas telescope.
