Back blip
At each Easter and Christmas over the past few years, the churches in Falkirk Presbytery of the Church of Scotland (which includes Cumbernauld) have been offered the use of a unit - the Community Hub - in the Howgate Shopping Centre in Falkirk to run events, either for one day or a few days.
We had the use of the Community Hub this weekend, so we decided that we would just set up on Friday and have the unit open to the public on Saturday for what we called 'Easter Cracked Open'. At least a dozen different churches took part, each running a range of either craft activities or story-telling or games.
The wall of the Community Hub was decorated with a number of posters, and also this felt 'vine' with each leaf containing the name of one of the churches taking part over the weekend. A truly collaborative effort.
