Waiting for the lights to change

On my way to work this morning, I had to stop for the lights onto Grafton Bridge. This wonderful old bridge, which has been in a number of earlier blips, was refurbished a few years ago, which refurbishing included strengthening it so that it can withstand heavy usage by buses, as many routes come into the central city across this bridge. Another thing that was done was to remove the graceless (even boring) electricity powered lights across the bridge, and replace them with new lamps designed to resemble the old gas lamps which were part of the original design.

By the time the traffic lights had changed through a couple of phases to green for cycles and buses to access the bridge, the bridge lights had turned off.
