A Line Made by (Badgers) Walking
Environmental artist Richard Long first came to public attention in 1967 with his Line Made by Walking. For this he trod a path up and down a field until the grass was worn away by his feet and then he took a photograph. Copies of the print are held by major art galleries and oceans of words have been employed to communicate the significance of the image.
Here, a group of badgers has performed the same ritual with a similar result although their purpose may have been more practical in nature.
