Palm Sunday

Domingo de Ramos...... and my Blip shows 2 hand woven, decorative palms, that I bought at this morning’s Sunday Market.
The Palms are an integral part of the traditional Spanish Easter.
The palm fonds are bleached, and woven into intricate patterns, by artisan.....mainly women....in the town of Elche, just to the south of Alicante city.
We recently visited one of the small workshops in Elche......
.......with our U3A group....
typical woven fonds are presented to members of the Spanish Royal family, and to the Pope, in Rome.....on Palm Sunday.

Today, in the market...there were several sizes of fonds available
.....I bought two......
one for my parents living in Benidorm and one for us.
