Lotta 19

We turned clocks in the morning and had lunch at my parents. In the afternoon we headed to Lotta's birthday party, she turned 19 last Friday. She'll have her last Matriculation Examination test tomorrow. Good luck!!

Today is Palm Sunday, and little Easter witches wander from door to door, bringing willow twigs decorated with colourful feathers and crepe paper as blessings to drive away evil spirits, in return for treats. Easter witches' tradition is to say: Virvon, varvon, tuoreeks terveeks, tulevaks vuodeks; vitsa sulle, palkka mulle (I wave a twig for a fresh and healthy year ahead; a twig for you, a treat for me) when handing a twig. We had bought treats for witches but only one visited us (thanks Mea!). We don't have many small kids in our neighbourhood, but in some areas you may have tens of witches behind a door.

It was very warm today, +6°C! In the evening we were back to minus degrees and it started to snow heavily.
