AND THE CELEBRATIONS CONTINUE!

We went to our Church this morning for the first time for five weeks and it was good to be back.  I sang in the Worship Group and I didn’t realise quite how much I had missed singing.

We have a tradition during our service in what is called “One Minute Testimony” where anyone can come to the front and speak about something that has happened to them during the week, such as how God has impacted their life, how they have come closer to God or even just how their life has been in the last week - good or not so good.

When this was announced, I looked at Mr. HCB, who was sitting in the congregation and we both got up to come and speak.  I did ask if we could have five minutes instead of just one as we hadn’t been there for five weeks, and we could tell from the beaming faces all around us that not only were people pleased to see us safely back, but they also wanted to know about our adventures in Vietnam, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Mr. HCB spoke about the man in his 80s who had to sell lottery tickets so that he could eat that day and I told them about the Christian taxi driver who prayed for our friend, Chris, as we journeyed with him, amongst other things.  We also agreed that it hadn’t been that hard to leave our son, Jules, in Vietnam, because we knew that he was happy there.

As we went to sit down, Rachel, who was leading the service told us to stay where we were as the Church had a gift for us - Howard went out and came back with this beautiful hand-tied bouquet of flowers, which are just perfect for a Golden Wedding and today happens to be the 51st anniversary of the day we got engaged.  Frank kindly took a photograph of us during the service - see the extra - and I have put our palm crosses into the bouquet as today is Palm Sunday.

Our Golden Wedding celebrations will certainly be remembered for many years to come.  It was so good to be back with our Church family and after the service, we had a Bring & Share lunch with a good number of friends and we were able to share more about our adventures with them.

It was more difficult to try and photograph the flowers once we got them home, but I managed to put them amongst the cards, which as I have said, will stay up for some time, so that we can enjoy them.

Thank you, once again, to EVERYONE, who has wished us well and sent cards - those who have come on our special journey with us - courtesy of Blip - and those who continue to keep us in their thoughts and prayers - we are truly blessed.

A great marriage doesn’t happen
because of the love you had
          in the beginning,
but how well you
     continue building love
          until the end.
