Poppy Seeds

Poppy seeds are fasinating when viewed up close - I mean very close!  Who would believe that those minscule black specs on your seeded rolls, or which burst out of a seed head in autumn, have such a such an intricate mesh texture?

These seeds were collected from my garden a year or so ago, so are now rather faded. They've been shot with my little Canon 35mm 1:1 macro lens with in-built ring light plus a full set of extension tubes (+75mm) which gives approx 2:1 magnification.

As a bit of fun, I then arranged the seeds to spell out something familiar to us all - see extra!
