The two finger tapper

We went to a local pub for tea tonight with all the family to celebrate Dad's birthday. We were the first to arrive and headed for the table only to find a little blue typewriter next to the table. Mum had this very same typewriter when she trained to be a typist before working for the council. It was bizarre, like a little bit of Mum was with us. I have never noticed it in the pub before.

Esther and Alice loved it, like I did when I was little, despite there being no ribbon or paper in it. Mum's is still up the loft. I bagsy-ed it a month or two ago with Gem agreeing as long as she could have Mum's sewing machine.

I plan to type out a few little stories about Mum for Esther and Iris' memory boxes if I can source some ribbons that is.

Reasons to be cheerful:
Despite being painful sometimes life without memories would be a sad one.
