Sunset Stroll

... More of a trot actually!

After a full day on the railway we made our way to Bwlchgwyn Farm Riding Centre at Fairbourne, a few miles up the coast.  Jamie can ride here thanks in part to their mounting ramp which enables him to mount from his wheelchair.  First ride since we were here last October but he was soon out of trot and into a canter and later managed a low jump, the first time he's jumped a horse since becoming wheelchairbound.  Fantastic ..... if perhaps mildly scary for the watching parent!  With no ability to grip with his legs, it's a more 'bouncy' ride.   We'll be back next time we're here.

I enjoyed two round trips guarding the train although with my assistant being assessed for promotion on Monday I had very little to do, giving him the reins so to speak and the chance to have a final practice with minimum interference from his trainer.  Still good fun.   Jamie came up with us in the morning and spent the day assisting at Abergynolwyn station which he particularly enjoys.  A good day all round :-)
