Old and New Surgery
The old surgery building that we use for our family doctor is to be demolished - BOO!
But they are building a new one directly behind it - HURRAH!
This Blipidea came from a Blipconversation I had with Woodpeckers (Helena) only yesterday so here you have it.
The old one has been there since early 60's and my first encounter with it was an appointment with a Dr Till in October 1986 when we came back for a month from Riyadh. It was for a 'Man Thing' and this surgery was a centre for that sort of thing, we'd decided that 3 children were enough for us!
When we returned to the UK late 1989 we lived in another area of Gloucester and in 1996 we moved to our present house, so this surgery became our local one.
They are now building this magnificent new surgery which will be equipped with a state of the art, computer controlled of course, pharmacy and many test equipment items which you would normally have to be referred to the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for.
I'm quite looking forward to the new surgery, I don't use the doctors very often but nice to now they are well equipped when I need them.
EDIT NOTE - I said above that the old surgery will be demolished, that's what you get for presuming without reading! It's not, it is going to be refurbished so the new building is an enhanced facility. Should be very good for the area.
