It's amazing how fast the sun moves across the horizon here - in terms of where the sunset is located on the skyline. A few days ago it was going down directly across from our windows over on the Espoo side, just by a power station. That's fairly obvious from this picture taken on February 22. On January 20 it was right over by the power station on the Helsinki side (i.e. way in the south). Now it's heading right round to the north, and as a result when the sun is going down it lights the left hand side of the corridor leading to the picture window, rather than the right hand side as it did before. I guess at present, since yesterday was the vernal equinox, it must be pretty much in the west. I'm looking forward to observing further changes as the year goes on.
Not much to report today. I've been trying to unravel a paper which has got over complicated and excessively long. I've more or less managed it, but still another day's work in it. And it's late. Whoops. Off to bed soon to catch up on Tuesday's Shetland denouement. Don't spoil the story!
