sacred heart

an old plaster statue of Christ keeps watch over me in the studio.

I'm not Catholic or particularly religious. Most of the 12 commandments make sense. 'Thou shalt not kill' is a good start, closely followed by 'Thou shalt not steal'.

Even late at night, like this, the statue has a feeling of calm. Just a close up of the gentle hands at rest over a sacred, burning heart. Maybe we should all keep a little flame alight in our heart. You can have it burning for whoever or whatever you wish....
