One Day In Green Valley, AZ
Eleven years ago today I stepped off an airplane from Maryland at Tucson International Airport. I never returned.
It was a typical Spring day in Green Valley. It's a retirement town; a quiet, peaceful place. The population more than doubles in size from October through April thanks to those fleeing cold and snow. To be honest, I love when May arrives and the snowbirds have flown the coop.
I took dozens of photos of people doing nondescript tasks throughout the day. There isn't anything unique about any of it (but I thought the dune buggy at the car wash was cool). I just wanted to show a glimpse of the pace of life.
I never thought I would end up here but it must have been in some 'master plan'. I have learned to love the desert and the mountains but am often lonely. I have been put here for a purpose, one that has little to do with me. One day at a time has added up to eleven years so far. I'm hoping there are many happier, healthier days - and years- left to come.
