Well Swum Swan

Wow! Thank you so much for the comments and stars you gave me for Worm's Eye View yesterday - which reached the SPOTLIGHT!

Today I went to a dull meeting half an hour's drive away and rewarded myself on the way back with a walk in Beckett's Park in the centre of Northampton, along the banks of the River Nene. Despite the chill wind there were quite a few folk about and plenty of blippable scenes.

Out of a camera=load of images, I chose this friendly swan - I am always amazed that swans keep so clean and sparkling white. I am glad that swans are no longer considered food for humans as they once were and that they have been protected in law (in the United Kingdom) under the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981).
