Going To Seed

Stopped for coffee in Geraldine on our way back to Christchurch, the coach parked next to what appeared to be a community garden of raised beds. This was the tallest among them, I'm trying to decide whether it is a cardoon or an artichoke but it's the only decent photo on the phone and will have to do.
We had our farewell dinner this evening and all depart at different times in the morning. It has been an interesting tour, the next few days we travel by hired car.
