Old Pohutukawa trees at Okupu Bay

Astonishing old trees, gnarled and weather beaten but still going strong. The biggest tree (in extra) is reckoned to be about 800 years old as it has ash in it dating back to the eruption of Rangitoto in Auckland that long ago.
Okupu Bay is wonderful spot, a very peaceful, tranquil bay; just the place to while away time.
