St. Barnabas Church Weeton

The spire of St. Barnabus Church in Weeton can be seen for miles around in the Lower Wharfe Valley. It is particularly noticeable from the train when passing over Arthington Viaduct. 
I had never actually visited the church before, so decided to take a detour on the way home from Leeds this afternoon. Although close to major road routes between Leeds and Harrogate, the village of Weeton is in a beautiful setting tucked away in a peaceful part of the valley. 
It is actually the church that was burnt down by Zoe Tate in the TV soap Emmerdale.  Fortunately the church remained intact during filming.
