Banksia Cones
One Cone in flower the extra is in full flower, there will be some some happy birds out there.
The Banksia is a member of the Protea family, named after the British Botanist Joseph Banks who collected them in Sydney in 1770, by 1788 several species of Banksia were kept in the UK in heated glass houses due to their cold sensitivity, here they are very common and wide spread, and grow easy in the garden. I love these flowers, some can grow as 20cm tall
