Cousins!

Tom's retirement bash in Stonehaven and Dave's mum had pulled out all the stops gathering his friends and family as a surprise weekend. She'd booked Air bnBs, one of which had an amazing, amost rooftop view of the Stonehaven harbour, right at the sea wall, with the storm raging and the waves bashing. We joined the party on the Saturday evening as they enjoyed bubbly, a fantastic curry restaurant and then back to the air BnB for nightcaps. It was lovely to see Jo and Akira again, and catch up with Anna and Carolyn, and spend time with the one and only Gillian, Tom's daughter, who is impossibly groomed to perfection, driven in all she does business wise, has a great sense of humour AND is a very nice person. I mean really Gillian, stop making the rest of us look bad, jings!

I think Tom seemed content with proceedings and was definately fairly merry by the time we left. And Sam caught up with his cousin Harry while I grabbed a snap of Dave and his cousin Colin, who had been partying with Dave's mum since Friday.

Akira made a beeline for cuddles with Dave and Tess, Sam said something unexpectedly lovely to me and I had a good chinwag with Tom's brother and Gillian's husband back at the house.

I'd been cajolled into volunteering to score a netball match at 9am the next morning, so it was designated driver duty for me all night and in the wee small hours we headed home over the snow roads and left the party to their night caps.

Happy Retirement Tom!
