The Ice Garden
It was rather disappointing (from a selfish viewpoint, I know) to wake up this morning to just a smattering of new snow. The forecast for the day predicted snow showers and the odd sunny interval, much like yesterday, but neither ever materialised. It remained grey, dry, cold and windy.
But what the moor lacked in way of the soft white stuff was more than made up for with the hard stuff in the form of icicles and verglas. The best locations for photography took some reaching but it was the worth the risk and effort. Using slow shutter speeds wasn't difficult because I was pretty much frozen stiff by this point. It was good to know that the 'warmth' of home and a cup of tea was only ever ten minutes away.
