Facing your fears

I’m terrified of wasps and had to do a job in the back loft which requires a Houdini style squeeze through to get in. Then I saw several of these and panicked even though I knew they were probably empty spent ones at this time of the year.

I had to get out as fast as possible but the panic made it slower to squeeze out as getting out is even harder than dropping in.

The fan still needed installing so I built up courage and knocked them down with a long stick from the main loft so I had a swift retreat. They were unbelievably paper thin and very fragile. Nothing happened so I ventured back in to have a closer look. They were honey comb inside but only about as large as an orange and had some dead wasps inside.

Was so glad that bit was sorted and felt confident to carry on. Managed to do quite a bit with rest to be finished tomorrow.
