A day of 2 halves
We were woken at 3:30am by the care home to tell us that Mr PB’s mumhad died. She had got up and went for a chat with the night nurse. Whilst sitting chanting she collapsed and died. Since living in the care home she had put on 5kg (mush needed) and had no Infections, so she had been doing really well. Her death was quite a shock. However any relative of someone with dementia will say that there is also the relief. Not just of seeing a loved one slowly slipping away, but also for the person, they are not the person we once loved. We were lucky Pam was always pleasant and still knew who we were.
The rest of the night was very disturbed. Mr PB text siblings asking them to ring when then got his text. Needless to say we had very little sleep.
For Christmas L gave me tickets to see Gary Numan and it was tonight. We still went as there was nothing we could do.
The gig was amazing. He is a true showman and I loved it. A fantastic way to end a sad start.
