Grass
No! Not for smoking.
Here in Finland the winters are hard and long. It has been announced that this month has been the coldest March in this century. (Go on, work it out!) Anyway the net result of real snow as opposed to the fleeting falls which are currently afflicting the British Isles is that there is no grass to be see.. Apart from the two recent trips to Ireland, I haven't seen so much as a single blade of grass since Christmas and there won't be any for another month.
The Finnish answer to this? Grow your own on the window ledge and when you have a healthy sward, transfer it as a centre piece to the dining table.
Now where did I put those fluffy chickens?
Probably another Finnish winter tradition for you tomorrow.
One back blip for yesterday posted too.
